Whilst buying a new domain todoish.com, Godaddy oh-so-wonderfully let me know that (myname).com was available. Now normally these last minute checkout sales don’t interest me, but this was obviously a bit different. I was actually surprised to see this, as last time I checked, it was taken. Apparently some not-so bright Andrew Fitzgerald forgot to renew - nice.

That’s about it. Oh - thanks to a coupon for dotcom domains, I scored both for less than $15. Again, nice.

Busy, Stressed, and Lack of Updates

First off, I wish everyone (anyone) who reads my blog, has had a great holiday season last year.

Since going on blog hiatus back in October (actually beforehand), I was working on a Rails project for a family friend. It was going well, and was working on it well into November. Unfortunately, to make a ridiculously long and complicated, even more ridiculously short, things went sour and it caused a lot of stress. After threats of being sued due to greed and pretty allegations, things we’re crazy for me, and the upcoming holidays were no help either.

So I took a bit of a break. About a month’s time, much needed after all the hard work I was pulling day after day. I would show off the work I did, but the client pretty much had somebody ruin the design so bad, I don’t even want to mention it, let alone show it off.

Well it’s now the new year, and it’s time to get focused and back into action. I’m good to go. So let’s go.

Pretty crazy at the end.

The mind is so powerful, yet so vulnerable. It almost makes you scarred.

13 out of 63 Million

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

I was looking over my traffic logs, and I saw a organic Google query “andrew’s blog”. That sparked my interest because for one, something that generic rarely gets picked up on a small level, and two, for somebody to actually click through to it, it would have to be one of the first 40 results.

So I looked and there I was, on the first page, about #13 out of 62,800,00.

Not that I expect anything from it, it’s just cool that a generic name like mine would get ranked so high like that.

Update: Looks like Google hates braggers. Maybe they found the link the search result and that kills your ranking. Oh well.
